Derbyshire Safe Place Scheme

The surgery has registered on Derbyshire County Council’s Safe Place Scheme.  The scheme aims to provide a temporary safe place for adults with a learning disability if they have any difficulties whilst they are out and about.

The scheme hopes to reduce bullying and abuse of adults with learning disabilities by providing a safe environment, easily identified by the Safe Place logo.

As a safe place, we will make a phone call, on behalf of the person, to either a parent, carer or the emergency services (if a crime has taken place).

Keep Safe Card – this is a card completed and carried around by the person with learning disability. It has important information about the person and contact details and numbers of the parent or carer to contact when there is a problem.

If you are a person with a learning disability or a parent or carer of someone with a learning disability and would like more information about the Safe Place Scheme and/or the Keep Safe Card, visit website www.derbyshire.gov.uk/safeplace or ask at reception.
